In his column on Time.com, Kevin Kelleher addressed an issue plaguing many technology companies: are companies and technologies today being built and operated for the benefit of the consumer? And should they? When discussing the topic of the Internet and how there is a cost to consumers of giving up personal data to enjoy the benefits the Internet offers, he says, “The mentality of big carriers like AT&T and Verizon is already to extract maximum revenue in exchange for a minimal quality of service.” Is this the way business is heading?
In economics 101 you learn that businesses seek to exist at those mythical equilibriums of supply and demand or marginal cost and marginal revenue. There is a balance in all markets. But should that balance be in the quality we provide consumers? If Mr. Kelleher is correct, then won’t the smallest quality denominator win?
This quote got us here at Wellspring Software thinking about how we do business. And frankly it made us feel good. We believe that while a race to the bottom in terms of quality may be a trend now, it is unsustainable. We’ve found that quality builds loyalty, and loyalty builds customers. In fact, we believe this so strongly that we have modeled our business over that past 24 years to offer the highest quality product for the lowest possible price. That’s why our $150 PrintBoss Select check printing software can do everything and more than the $3,000+ check printing softwares in the QuickBooks add-on market can. Our philosophy is simple: price should not be prohibitive. We make it so everyone in the QuickBooks market that prints checks from multiple bank accounts can use PrintBoss to improve their accounting practices.
Since 1990, we have demonstrated that this philosophy works. We are grateful to have the most loyal customers in our industry and to get to share PrintBoss with new customers every day. As we look forward to the coming year, we believe, in the long term, quality will always win. It’s for this reason that as we enter this new year, we plan to keep doing what we’re doing and have been doing for nearly a quarter century: developing quality check printing software and selling it for a price everyone can afford.
If you print checks from multiple bank accounts, give PrintBoss a try for free for 30-days. After 30 days it’s only a one-time fee of $150 to buy a license. It’s the best quality product in the QuickBooks add-on market…at least we think so!
